The winger enjoyed a highly productive 2025/26 campaign with Sekhukhune United FC. He featured in 27 league matches and provided nine assists from the left wing. While he did not find the back of the net, he remained an influential creator in the final third.
His 2024/25 statistics were arguably even more impressive. During that campaign, he created 71 chances and completed 55 successful dribbles. He also posted the highest expected threat (xT) per game in the league and collected six Man of the Match awards.
Experience to Benefit Amakhosi
Makgalwa’s football journey began in the Mamelodi Sundowns academy, where he won league titles before injuries disrupted his progress. Following several loan spells, he successfully reignited his career at Sekhukhune. This resurgence was rewarded with a senior Bafana Bafana call-up in late 2025.
At 29 years old, Makgalwa is not a long-term project. However, his direct running, dribbling, and vision offer immediate quality.
He could complement the speed and trickery of the current squad while adding healthy competition. This depth is crucial for a side looking to return to the summit of local football and compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.
