Erling Haaland is reportedly uncertain about continuing his tenure at Manchester City. According to El Nacional, the striker has reservations about the club’s future following Pep Guardiola’s departure and Enzo Maresca’s appointment as manager.
The Norwegian also hoped for more proactive interest from Real Madrid. However, the club from Santiago Bernabeu has not approached him, and his name does not appear on Jose Mourinho’s current list of transfer priorities.
This lack of interest has reportedly influenced Haaland’s view on a potential move to Madrid. The forward, who had a strong start to the World Cup with two goals, is said to be disillusioned by the stance of Los Blancos.
According to sources, Haaland now considers Barcelona a preferred destination. Joan Laporta had previously expressed interest in bringing him to the club, but at the time, Haaland opted to join Manchester City instead.
Barcelona is in the market for a world-class striker to eventually succeed Robert Lewandowski. However, any potential deal would pose significant financial challenges, particularly in light of the recent €80 million signing of Anthony Gordon.
The Catalans are not ruling out the possibility altogether. If a transfer isn’t feasible this summer, Joan Laporta and Deco may revisit the matter during a future transfer window.
