Orlando Pirates captain Nkosinathi Sibisi has called on fans to lower their expectations for the club’s newest young players. “It builds excitement for our supporters to say we have new players coming in,” Sibisi stated to reporters, as reported bygoal.com. “But it’s still touch and go. It’s going to be a long season and, as I have said, we need to be patient with some of the boys because there is huge potential.”
Sibisi emphasized that every player’s growth path is unique. Fast-tracking development can harm a young player’s mental and physical transition to top-tier football.
“We don’t need to rush them because I don’t think everyone is your Relebohile, your Mbokazi, your Mohau [Nkota],” he added. “So, I am pleading with our supporters to please be patient with these boys. There is a lot to come with the season.”
Managing squad depth is crucial for head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou as the club competes across several domestic competitions. Fresh talent brings energy and versatility. However, relying too heavily on untested players without proper protection can lead to premature burnout.

“I know there is pressure to win trophies and everything, but having said that, let’s be patient with some of the boys, and I am sure they will deliver by the end of the season,” Sibisi concluded.
