Former TS Galaxy FC coach Adnan Beganovic has praised defender Khulumani Ndamane for his strong progress since transferring to Mamelodi Sundowns FC.
Ndamane moved to Chloorkop in January after delivering solid performances for the Rockets. Since then, he has expanded his role on the international stage. He featured for Bafana Bafana at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the FIFA World Cup.
Now in the national squad under Pitso Mosimane, Ndamane could play in South Africa’s upcoming international friendly against Egypt.

A Natural Leader and Game Reader
Speaking to soccerladuma.co.za, Beganovic described Ndamane as a “diamond” during their shared period at Galaxy. He noted that the defender’s talent was clear from his very first training session.
Beganovic highlighted several key technical traits:
- Line-breaking passing: Ability to play naturally between opposition lines.
- Long-range precision: Excellent capacity to switch play across the pitch.
- Tactical awareness: Reading the game early to compensate for lack of raw speed.
“His strength is not his speed. His strength is how he reads the game,” Beganovic explained. He also pointed out Ndamane’s leadership skills and competitive drive.
Impact on TS Galaxy
The Bosnian coach admitted that losing Ndamane mid-season was a significant blow for his former team. Following his departure, Galaxy suffered a tough spell, gathering just two points from nine matches.
Beganovic noted that finding an immediate replacement of the same standard proved difficult. The defender had served as the vocal leader who held their defensive line together.
Despite the setback for the club, Beganovic believes the transfer was a necessary move for the player’s career. He supported Ndamane’s inclusion in the national team, stating that his performances in qualifying matches and the World Cup were well deserved.
