Former Orlando Pirates forward Lehlohonolo Majoro believes Yanela Mbuthuma has earned his chance to shine in Saturday’s MTN8 final.

The Bucaneers face Mamelodi Sundowns FC at a sold-out Moses Mabhida Stadium.

According to reports from iol.co.za, Majoro emphasized that high-stakes matches require total clinical precision in front of goal.

“This is a cup final, this is where being ruthless in front of goals plays a huge role,” Majoro stated.

Rising Form on the Big Stage

Mbuthuma enters the showpiece event in exceptional form. He has recorded two goals and three assists in his last five appearances.

He also registered a decisive assist on his Bafana Bafana debut against Guinea.

While many focus solely on goal tallies, Majoro highlighted the forward’s unselfish work rate and movement off the ball.

He noted that a striker’s role involves creating space for teammates alongside scoring.

For Majoro, a goal in the final would be the ultimate reward for Mbuthuma’s continuous efforts.

Heavyweight Attacking Contest

The final presents a thrilling tactical battle between two South African giants. Mamelodi Sundowns FC bring formidable firepower, including attacking options like Bryan Leon, Cassius Mailula, and Iqraam Rayners.

Majoro warned that Leon can settle matches instantly when in rhythm, while Mailula adds extra goal-scoring quality to the squad.

Orlando Pirates aim to secure their fifth consecutive MTN8 trophy. Meanwhile, Sundowns intend to break their rivals’ long-standing dominance in the tournament.

With both sides featuring potent attacking lines, clinical finishing will likely determine the ultimate winner.
