Why AmaZulu Initially Rejected the Pirates Offer
Martin revealed that Orlando Pirates made an initial offer for the winger much earlier. AmaZulu chose to decline that bid. The decision was based on market value and player development. Martin explained that the club recognized Moremi’s high ceiling. Selling him too early would have meant losing out on his true financial and sporting worth.
The transition was not always smooth. Moremi faced criticism during his early days at Usuthu. He missed several clear scoring opportunities. Despite the pressure, the coaching staff maintained their faith. They saw his daily growth and long-term potential.
This patience has paid off for both the player and his new club. Moremi’s current form has even forced tactical shifts within the Pirates squad. His presence on the wing has allowed coach Abdeslam Ouaddou to move Relebohile Mofokeng into a central No. 10 role.
