Sekhukhune United head coach Eric Tinkler has addressed his team’s recent dip in form. The Limpopo-based side has struggled since the return from the AFCON hiatus.

Babina Noko began the second half of the 2025/26 campaign with a loss to Stellenbosch. This was followed by a 0-0 draw against Orlando Pirates and a defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.

A Challenging Run of Fixtures

The team has now dropped to fifth place on the log. They currently hold 26 points from 16 matches. Most concerning for fans is that the team has yet to score a goal in this period.

Tinkler highlighted the quality of the opposition. He noted that his side faced the top three finishers from last season in just one week.

“Disappointed obviously,” Tinkler told onefootball.com. “But at the same time, we played three difficult matches in a space of a week.”

He acknowledged that while Stellenbosch has had a fluctuating season, they remain a top-tier threat. Tinkler emphasized that matches against Pirates and Sundowns are never easy.

Looking Ahead to TS Galaxy

The coach remains focused on the future. He expressed disappointment but noted his history of beating the league’s giants. He believes the team must now find its rhythm against different levels of competition.

“What’s important is to bounce back,” Tinkler stated. He wants his players to collect maximum points in the upcoming fixtures.

Sekhukhune United will face TS Galaxy this Sunday at Mbombela Stadium. This match represents a vital opportunity for the club to reignite their hunt for continental football.
