Spain will try to make it two wins out of two games as they prepare to play against Italy in a Euro 2024 group stage game.
Spain vs Italy Betting Tips
- Bet on a draw- 3.40 at Betway (correct as of 18 June).
- Bet on the game to end 1-1- 5.20 at Betfred (correct as of 18 June).
- Bet on Alvaro Morata to score- 2.55 at Betway (correct as of 18 June).
Bet on a Draw
There is not that much to separate the two teams. Spain have a better attack than Italy but the defending Euro 2020 champions make up for that as they have a better defence. The Italian’s will try to frustrate Spain who last won this tournament in 2012.
It should be a tight game with the ball contained to midfield for large portions. Both teams will be willing to settle for a draw as it will take them closer towards qualification for the knockout stage as both also opened their campaign with respective victories.
Bet on the Game to End 1-1
Spain may have opened their campaign with a 3-0 win over 2022 World Cup semi-finalists Croatia but will face a tougher test against Italy. Croatia’s style of play tends to be more effective for World Cup football but not Euros.
Italy are good when it comes to scoring against the run of play and they are more than capable of succeeding in finding the back of the net against Spain.
Bet on Alvaro Morata to Score
Morata is playing a key role for Spain in this tournament. His power headers will be useful from set-pieces and there is a good chance that Spain will need to use a set-piece to find the back of the net in this game.
What the managers say?
Spain coach Luis de la Fuente feels that his team’s 16-year-old star Lamine Yamal can become one of the best players in the world.
“Lamine Yamal becoming the youngest player to play at the Euro? He just keeps breaking records. He needs to keep growing and I’m sure one day he’ll be one of the best,” he said as quoted by Eurosport.
Italy coach Luciano Spalletti has said that his team needs to be “meaner” than they were against Albania for this game.
“We switched off but we need to appreciate the desire to try and go and play football even when the going got tough,” he told reporters.
“There are a number of things we still have to improve because we thought we were better than we were in too many situations,” he said.
“We need to be meaner, neat and tidy in the way we build things up, you free up a man but then you need to go and hurt the opposition … we thought we were brilliant at just keeping possession.”
