Sabelo Radebe is once again searching for a new club. The former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder has parted ways with Lerumo Lions.

According to a report by kickoff.com, the Motsepe Foundation Championship side decided against extending his contract. This move leaves the 26-year-old midfielder as a free agent ahead of the 2026/27 season.

A Difficult Path After Naturena

Radebe was once highly regarded as one of the brightest talents in the Kaizer Chiefs academy. However, breaking into consistent first-team football remains a massive hurdle for many young South African prospects.

He ended his long association with the Soweto giants in July 2025. To find regular game time, he joined Lerumo Lions in January 2026. The North West-based club hoped his top-flight experience would boost their promotion ambitions. Unfortunately, this partnership has now come to an early end.

Searching for Consistency

This exit represents another hurdle in Radebe’s quest for stability. During his time contracted to the Glamour Boys, he also had a loan spell at Richards Bay FC.

His stint in KwaZulu-Natal did not go as planned. It was cut short after he struggled to secure a regular starting spot.

Radebe must now look for another opportunity to rebuild his career. Meanwhile, Lerumo Lions are busy restructuring. The club is assessing its squad for the 2026/27 campaign and plans to make new signings soon.
