Match Predictions

Given that they already trail La Liga leaders Barcelona by four points, Real Madrid will be eyeing a solid win against Espanyol at the Santiago Bernabeu this weekend.

Real Madrid vs Espanyol Betting Tips

  • Bet on Real Madrid to win – 1.18 at Betway.
  • Bet on Real Madrid to win 2-0 – 5.40 at Betfred.
  • Bet on only Real Madrid to score – 1.86 at Betway.

Bet on Real Madrid to win

Madrid can ill-afford to continue making too many more mistakes. They are aiming to reclaim the La Liga crown which they won last season. Barcelona are currently in top form under Hansi Flick and look like they could challenge for the Spanish top-flight title this season. Madrid may not be playing their best football but they know what it takes to unlock teams such as Espanyol and to come out with a win. This won’t be a particular pretty win for them but one can expect Los Blancos to do what they need to do in order to come out of this contest with a win.

Bet on Real Madrid to win 2-0

Madrid will need to be fully focused for this game. Thibaut Courtois will have to ensure that he is firmly on guard in goal. The experienced captain Luka Modric will need to dictate play from midfield and ensure that the attacking duo of Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe are well-fed at all times.

Madrid should fully impose themselves in the first half and score at least one. In the second half, Espanyol will be forced to try and play more attacking football and this is where Madrid could find a second goal against the run of play. Modric may be beyond his prime but through his spatial awareness, he can still unlock Espanyol’s defence with his calmness and composure alone.

Bet on only Real Madrid to score

Madrid will be aware that they should come out of this contest with a win so long as they are defensively on the ball. Good defending will be their prime target in this game, even ahead of attacking brilliance. Courtois will use his experience and marshall his defenders well, in the end, the Belgian will help his side to preserve a draw.
