Xabi Alonso has officially begun his tenure as the manager of Chelsea. The Stamford Bridge club holds great optimism in the Spanish coach, hoping the former Real Madrid player will guide The Blues back to footballing glory.
Following the wishes of their new manager, Chelsea remains highly active in the transfer market. So far, the club has secured the signings of Marco Palestra, Geovany Quenda, and Denner – but this is likely just the beginning of their summer transfer endeavours.
Reports indicate that the English powerhouse does not intend to halt its progress. According to the Italian newspaper “Corriere della Sera,” one of the potential additions to Stamford Bridge could be Manu Kone.
It is said that Chelsea has already initiated preliminary discussions with Roma regarding the transfer of the 25-year-old midfielder. Interestingly, the deal might involve Alejandro Garnacho moving in the opposite direction, which could simplify negotiations between the two clubs.
The 19-time French international, who enjoyed a successful World Cup campaign, has been a key player for Roma since joining the Italian side in August 2024. He transferred to Stadio Olimpico from Borussia Moenchengladbach in a deal worth 18 million euros.
In his previous season, Manu Kone made 37 appearances, scoring two goals and providing three assists. According to the valuation by the specialised platform “Transfermarkt,” his current market value is estimated to be around 50 million euros.
