Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lebohang Maboe has cautioned his side against letting early pace-setters slip away. The warning comes as the team looks to sustain a strong start in the Betway Premiership.

Kaizer Chiefs currently occupy third place on the table. They have gathered eight points from four matches. This leaves them just two points behind second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns FC and leaders Orlando Pirates.

Maboe emphasized the need to secure maximum points immediately. He noted that schedule congestion will become a factor later in the campaign. “It’s very important to collect points now because come January next year, they’ll be continental football to juggle,” Maboe explained. He added that the focus must remain on winning upcoming matches, starting with Siwelele FC on Sunday.

The upcoming fixture against Siwelele FC at Dobsonville Stadium offers an opportunity to protect their unbeaten run. You can follow more match analysis on our predictions page.

Beyond the league standings, Maboe addressed his individual role under head coach Fernando Da Cruz. The midfielder continues in his usual position but under new tactical instructions. He stated that the adaptation relies on reading the game effectively to exploit opposition weaknesses.
