Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly secured the permanent services of forward Khanyisa Mayo. The 27-year-old spent the previous season on loan with Amakhosi from Algerian outfit CR Belouizdad.
According to reports from North Africa, the Soweto giants paid a significant transfer fee to finalize the move.
The Transfer Details
The financial figures coming out of Algeria place the transfer fee between €500,000 (R9.4 million) and €600,000 (R11.2 million).
Interestingly, this represents a financial loss for CR Belouizdad. The Algerian club originally paid nearly double that amount when they acquired Mayo from Cape Town City. Mayo had one year left on his contract in Algeria, prompting CRB to cash in.

Mayo’s loan spell at Naturena was relatively quiet. He delivered just two goals across a period of nearly seven months.
His game time was also limited:
- He appeared in 15 matches.
- He completed a full 90 minutes just once.
- He made only eight starts, with the last one coming in January.
- He missed the final six matches of the campaign due to various reasons.
