Former Mamelodi Sundowns FC midfielder Thulani Zandamela is actively pursuing his next career step. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder is currently training with TS Galaxy FC as he aims to secure a contract.

Zandamela initially made a name for himself in the Varsity Football Tournament with the University of Johannesburg. His performances earned him a move to Sundowns. He impressed in the DStv Diski Challenge and trained with the senior team in 2022.

To gain first-team experience, he spent two consecutive seasons on loan at AmaTuks. Following his departure from Sundowns, he signed with Marumo Gallants FC at the start of the current campaign.

However, according to idiskitimes.co.za, the player parted ways with Gallants before the recent transfer window closed. He has since been working on the pitch at the Rockets to maintain his sharpness and impress technical managers.

Tactical Fit and Coaching Transitions

Adding a player of Zandamela’s caliber could offer tactical flexibility. TS Galaxy currently utilizes youthful attacking midfield options such as Siphamandla Ngwenya and Siphesihle Tati. Experienced figures like Tshepo Kakora and Mpho Mvelase have also filled the role. Zandamela could provide valuable depth to their creative engine.

This trial period coincides with administrative changes on the bench. Galaxy is working to finalize the arrival of new head coach Admir Adžem. Adžem is currently awaiting his work permit to officially take over from Bernard Parker.

Parker, a Bafana Bafana legend, is expected to remain as an assistant coach while continuing his coaching credentials. He maintains strong support from Chairman Tim Sukazi.

Football squad building often requires finding balance between raw young talent and players tested in top-flight environments. Zandamela’s current stint with TS Galaxy reflects how free agents navigate competitive mid-season squads to secure long-term stability.
