Ousmane Diomande Under Bayern Munich’s Radar
Recently, the name Ousmane Diomande has come up in connection with clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal. Yet, the Red Devils and the Gunners face significant competition as interest in the center-back from Sporting Lisbon is on the rise weekly. Christian Falk has reported in the German newspaper “BILD” that the 20-year-old defender has now caught the attention of Bayern Munich.
Bringing this highly sought-after defender on board would require a substantial financial outlay. Some sources indicate that the center-back has a release clause of 80 million euros. Although other reports contradict this, the deal involving Ousmane Diomande is likely to cost no less than 50 million euros. Standing at 190 centimeters tall, Diomande has been with the Lions since January 2023, having joined from FC Midtjylland for 7.5 million euros.
So far, the eight-time Ivory Coast international has accumulated 69 matches, 4 goals, and 1 assist for Sporting Lisbon. In the 2023/2024 season, this talented defender became the champion of Portugal and also boasts a gold medal from the Africa Cup of Nations. Ousmane Diomande’s contract with the Portuguese club is valid until June 30, 2027. The reputable site “Transfermarkt” values the defender at 40 million euros.
