Julian Alvarez continues to be one of the top transfer targets for FC Barcelona. According to information shared by Santi Ovalle on Cadena SER, the Catalan club plans to renew their efforts to sign the Atletico Madrid forward.

The new proposal won’t be immediate but is expected to be finalised during the summer transfer window. Barcelona has operated under strict financial boundaries from the start. Even when Real Madrid presented an offer of €150 million for the Argentine star, those at Camp Nou were not inclined to follow a similar path.

“FC Barcelona will submit a new bid, though not in the short term. The offer will range between $120–130 million, as they were unwilling to match the $150 million proposed by Real Madrid,” Ovalle stated.

Recent developments have added tension to the situation. After Argentina’s victory against Austria, Alvarez himself admitted in an interview that he has already spoken with Atletico and hopes the club will allow him to leave to fulfil his dream.

In Madrid, these comments were interpreted as being influenced by Alvarez’s interactions with Barcelona. Consequently, Atletico decided to escalate the matter by filing a complaint with FIFA.

Information from Cadena SER suggests that Barcelona remains unfazed by this move. The club reportedly believes the complaint will not have serious repercussions and has no intention of altering its transfer plans.

Unless unforeseen developments occur in the coming weeks, Barcelona is set to make another attempt to negotiate with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of the Argentine World Cup champion.
