Kaizer Chiefs will be forced to restructure their midfield for this weekend’s league action. Siphesihle Ndlovu is set to serve a one-match suspension.

The 29-year-old has become a regular figure in the starting eleven. He is known for his high-energy “dirty work” in the middle of the pitch. However, this aggressive style has eventually led to a disciplinary setback.

During the recent encounter against Mamelodi Sundowns, Ndlovu was the first Amakhosi player booked. It was a risky performance that nearly resulted in a red card. The coaching duo of Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze eventually substituted him after the hour mark to protect the team.

This caution was his fourth yellow card of the season. According to the PSL Handbook, this triggers an automatic suspension. As a result, he will miss the game against Sekhukhune United FC on Sunday.

Ndlovu previously missed the trip to Siwelele FC due to an injury discomfort from the Soweto Derby. His current absence creates a tactical challenge for the Kaizer Chiefs technical team.

The club also faces further disciplinary risks as the season nears its conclusion. Several players are currently one booking away from a ban. These include:

  • Wandile Duba
  • Flavio Silva
  • Mfundo Vilakazi
  • Nkosingiphile Ngcobo

Managing these risks will be crucial for the final three fixtures of the campaign. Fans tracking the latest news will note that any further bookings could severely deplete the squad’s options.
